Early Childhood Teacher

Tell us something about yourself:

Hi! I am a proud mother of two children. I have been in the childcare industry for over 10 years and I have just completed my Bachelor of Arts (Pathway to Teaching Birth – 5/Birth – 12) degree.
It amazes me how things have changed. However, teaching comes from the heart and that will never change. I believe that it is the most important stage of a child’s life where they are able to have the opportunity to learn through play and I look forward to working with you and the children.

What inspired you to choose a career in childcare?

I consider myself a very enthusiastic, patient and responsible person who also likes teaching and working with children. I am passionate about children and I enjoy interacting with them. Children have a lot of potential and I would like to guide/assist in their learning while they are playing.

Tell us what you enjoy most about working with children

I enjoy seeing their excitement when they learn something new and are able to do something for the first time. Also getting to know each child as a unique individual, finding out what makes them tick and then using this knowledge to help them grow, to maximise their strengths and to build their confidence and competence is so rewarding. I feel honoured to be a part of their growth!

Favourite children’s book:

My favourite children’s book is: We All Go Travelling By. This is a rhythmic I-spy journey to school through various landscapes and is a great introduction to colours, modes of transport (fun introduction to cars, trucks, planes, and things that move to practice the sounds) and music.
